Right now, today … is the best time to start something on the internet. There has never been a better time in the whole history of the world to invent something. There has never been a better time with more opportunities, more openings, lower barriers, higher benefit/risk ratios, better returns, greater upside, than now. Right now, this minute. This is the time that folks in the future will look back at and say, “Oh to have been alive and well back then!”
I come back to this idea whenever I’m tempted to avoid starting something, just because it’s already popular or it seems like the optimal window has passed.
I felt that way with starting this newsletter—despite the 1% rule.
A lot of my friends feel this way about learning to use AI tools—even though only 14% (!!) of US adults have tried ChatGPT.
You are not too late.
As the old saying goes: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is today.”
